Streaming Services
Tune brings your streaming services and your local library into one interface: search, playlists and the queue mix both. Accounts are connected from the interface, with no file to edit.
Connecting a service
- Open Settings › Access and tokens › Streaming Services. The Access and tokens tab only shows at the Advanced and Expert interface levels. You can also connect services in the first-launch wizard.
- Follow the steps for each service, described below.
- Once connected, the service appears under Streaming in the sidebar.
TIDAL
- Sign-in: click Connect to Tidal. Tune shows a link ("Open this link to connect:"). Open it, sign in to your TIDAL account and authorise Tune. The connection completes on its own.
- Quality: Tune asks for the best quality your subscription allows (
HI_RES_LOSSLESSby default). To force another quality, use theTUNE_TIDAL_QUALITYvariable (HI_RES_LOSSLESS,HI_RES,LOSSLESS,HIGH).
Qobuz
- Sign-in: enter your Qobuz account email and password, then click Connect.
- Quality depends on your Qobuz subscription.
Deezer
- Sign-in: with the "ARL", the
arlcookie Deezer stores in your browser while you are signed in on deezer.com. Copy its value from the browser's developer tools (Storage › Cookies › deezer.com), paste it into the Paste your Deezer ARL field and click Save. Tune has Deezer check it and shows "ARL accepted by Deezer" or "ARL rejected by Deezer". - The ARL expires from time to time; paste a new one when it does.
YouTube Music
- Sign-in: Connect YouTube Music, then Open Google authorization. Enter the code Tune shows on the Google page, then allow access.
- Playback: YouTube blocks direct playback from a server. Click Enable YouTube playback: Tune then downloads the
yt-dlptool (about 30 MB), which makes playback possible.
Bandcamp
Bandcamp comes as a built-in extension that links your account. See Settings › Extensions (Expert level).
Spotify
In version 1.0, a connected Spotify account lets you browse the catalogue, but you cannot play Spotify tracks in Tune.
To connect the account, Tune needs the Client ID of your own Spotify app. Since 1.0.0-rc2, you enter it in the interface: if the server has none, the Spotify card in Settings › Access and tokens › Streaming Services shows the field Your Spotify app’s Client ID. Create the app in the Spotify dashboard (Open the Spotify dashboard), declare the redirect URI shown by Tune in it, paste the Client ID, then click Save. You can then sign in. If the TUNE_SPOTIFY_CLIENT_ID variable is set on the server, it takes precedence.
Radio and podcasts
- Live radio: Tune ships with a list of stations, including the Radio France stations. You can add your own stations, import or export an M3U list and mark favourites (Favourites and All stations tabs). Search covers this local list only: Tune does not query an online radio directory.
- Podcasts: search, charts and RSS feed subscriptions.
Metadata providers
These services fill in your library: covers, artist photos, credits, years, genres. Most need nothing. Any keys go in Settings › Access and tokens.
